Tigerville, S.C. – The Lady Crusaders scored three goals in the second half en route to a 3-0 victory over Brewton-Parker College and the team’s sixth win in a row.
“In the second half we really came out and began to move the ball well as a team,” said head coach Jesse McCormick. “Once we got our first goal we really stepped up and played together as a team.”
The Lady Crusaders attacked the Lady Barons early and often, registering 26 shots in the game.
After a first half that ended in a scoreless tie, Leah Ward broke the stalemate with a goal in the 63rd minute of an assist from Jade Salle.
The Lady Crusaders then began to pile on the goals as defender Emily Pittman scored her second goal of the season just one minute late off an assist from Ward.
Ward would end the scoring barrage with her 14 goal of the season in the 87th minute on an assist from Abby Brack to seal the victory.
The Lady Crusaders will look to extend their winning streak on Saturday against King College at 4 p.m. in Pepsi Stadium.
