The North Greenville women’s soccer team recorded its second shutout of the season on Saturday, defeating Chowan University 1-0.
“Today was a solid effort overall and we played well as a team,” said head coach Jesse McCormick.
Although the Lady Crusaders were missing a few key players, the team possessed well and played solid defense to come away with the victory.
North Greenville, which outshot Chowan 17-12 in the game, got the game-winning goal from Jade Salle in the 70th minute. Salle received a cross from defender Emily Pittman and placed the shot into the back of the net to seal the win.
The Lady Crusaders are now 6-5 on the season and will look to extend their two-game winning streak on Wednesday, Oct. 20 against Lees-McRae College at home in Pepsi Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
