Gaffney, SC – The Lady Crusaders rebounded from a tough week with a 2-1 victory over Limestone College in overtime.
“Everyone on the field was working hard,” said head coach Jesse McCormick. The girls played as a team and played with a lot of intensity and passion.”
The Lady Saints outshot the Lady Crusaders 27- 15, but North Greenville goalkeeper Regina Ibanga had her best performance of the season recording 13 saves in the game.
Lead Ward continued to be the go-to player for the Lady Crusaders as she scored both goals for North Greenville in the win. Ward’s first goal of the game in the 17th minute when defender Emily Pittman pushed up the field, feeding the ball to Ward to record her first assist of the season.
Ward’s second goal was scored when she received a pass from midfielder Jade Salle in the 100th minute to steal the victory on the road.
The Lady Crusaders will play again Saturday, Oct. 16 in Murfreesboro, NC against Chowan University at 3 p.m.
