Tigerville, S.C. – After a dominating victory over Emmanuel College last Saturday, the Lady Crusaders soccer team was on the field again Friday afternoon to play against Truett-Mconnell College.
In a game that was physical from the beginning, the Lady Crusaders were unable to continue their winning streak. The Lady Bears left Tigerville with a 2-1 victory.
Truett-McConnell opened the scoring in with a goal in the 28th minute and went into halftime with the 1-0 lead.
After a few halftime adjustments, the Lady Crusaders got on the board in the 66th minute to even the score at 1-1. Senior forward Leah Ward scored her third goal in as many games after possessing a pass from midfielder Jade Salle.
After much back-and-forth action, the Lady Bears scored the game-winning goal with 10 minutes left to seal the victory.
“Tonight there were some thing we could’ve done better,” said head coach Jesse McCormick. “Overall we needed to play better as a team and I believe we can do that with more consistency.”
North Greenville (2-2) will be on the pitch again Wednesday, September 22, against Barton College. Game time is set for 3 p.m. in Pepsi Stadium.
