Tigerville, S.C.—
After a 6-3 loss less than a week ago, the North Greenville women’s soccer team took the field on Tuesday afternoon for a match against the Knights of St. Andrews. The Crusaders would trail after the first period 1-0 however NGU would score two unanswered goals in the second period to take the match 2-1.

The Knights only goal of the game came on an unassisted goal with 1 second left on the first period clock. North Greenville knotted the game up at one 15 minutes into the second period on an unassisted goal from Ashlyn Henderson in the 60th minute. 17 minutes later Sarah McCorkle scored what would be the game winning goal finding the back of the net with an assist from Leah Ward in the 77th minute. North Greenville goal keeper Jessica Brinkley also played a solid game racking up 3 saves.
“It was a good win for us” said head coach Jesse McCormick, “any time you come out with a win its good but having to come from behind shows that our team has great character and they never gave up.”   The Lady Crusaders’ next match will be in Tigerville against Chowan College with kickoff set for 5pm.
