CRUSADERS DROPPED BY TROJANS

Mt. Olive, N.C.-
The North Greenville women’s soccer team has been the hottest team on campus coming into Saturdays match against Mount Olive College.

While the games up today have been NCAA Division II schools, the opponents were tough. The Crusaders would take a step up in competition today when they took on the Trojans from Mount Olive, N.C.  a Division 1-AA school.
The Lady Crusaders were riding the momentum of a 1-0 win over Brevard, the momentum however would not be enough to carry the Crusaders to a win over the Trojans. Mt. Olive came out on top 2-0 with goals in the 58th and 77th minutes of the 90 minute match. The Crusaders came close to tying the game the game at one on a shot from Leah Ward however the Trojan goal keeper would come up with a miraculous stop. “The girls played hard” said head coach Jesse McCormick, “their [Mt. Olive] goal keeper made some big saves and we just couldn’t score.” The Crusaders next match will be September 17 at 7pm against Warren Wilson College in Tigerville.
