CRUSADERS DROP CLOSE MATCH TO WARRIORS

Tigerville, S.C.-
After starting the season 2-0 the North Greenville Women’s soccer team took the field Saturday evening looking to add a 3rd win.

A win Saturday would make the Lady Crusaders 3-0, the team would also be the lone undefeated team in Tigerville. Standing in the way of NGU would be the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University. The Warriors would challenge the Crusaders early by netting the first goal 47 seconds into the game. The score would remain 1-0 until Ashlyn Henderson would even the count for the Crusaders in the 28th minute. The score would remain tied until the SWU would take a 2-1 lead in the 59th minute which they would not relinquish. The goal by Ashlyn Henderson was her 4th of the year. “I think the girls played hard today” said head coach Jesse McCormick “losing is an unfortunate part of the game and we just have to learn from it and forget about it.” The Crusaders will finish up a 3 game home stand on September 8th when they take on Brevard College at 4pm.
