Women's soccer falls at Lander

GREENWOOD--The Lander women's soccer team defeated North Greenville, 5-0, in a non-conference game for its school-record 12th victory.

Lander improves to 12-3 overall, while North Greenville drops to 2-9-2.

Jannica Finnberg scored her ninth goal of the season at 1:40 on an assist from Sabrina Backlund to give Lander a 1-0 lead.

The Lady Bearcats extended the lead to 2-0 when Aisha Reid connected on an unassisted goal at 36:21 after she picked up a loose ball behind the goalkeeper. Freshman Raven Booth scored at 41:26 on an assist from Reid to give Lander a 3-0 lead to end the first half.

The Lady Bearcats continued its scoring barrage in the second half when Christin Moss scored on an assist from Stacey Copeland at 56:05 and Dani Smith netted the final goal at 60:21 on an assist from Moss.

Lander outshot North Greenville, 27-3, and led in corner kicks, 7-0.

North Greenville goalkeeper Jessica Binkley had 11 saves.
