Women's Soccer fights hard for tie

TIGERVILLE, SC—North Greenville University battled both a setting sun and Warren Wilson College at Pepsi Field. Neither team was able to net a goal as the game ended in a 0-0 tie. The Crusaders’ record is 1-6-1 and Warren Wilson’s went to 1-3-1.

After 90 scoreless minutes, game officials decided to call the game without an overtime period due to a darkness, as the sun had almost completely set. Pepsi Stadium does not have lights.

Bridgett Smith (Weaverville-North Buncombe HS) had a chance with 16:20 left, but was unable to score.

Jessica Binkley (Simpsonville-Hillcrest HS) had 5 saves on her way to earn her second shut out of the season.

The Crusaders’ next game is Wednesday, September 26th as they travel to USC- Salkehatchie. Warren Wilson faces off against Southern Wesleyan on Tuesday, September 25th.
