Women's soccer falls at Anderson

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Lynne Flint scored one goal and had two assists and Virginia Cates scored one goal and had one assist to lead Anderson University to a 3-0 victory over North Greenville in NCAA D-II action Tuesday night at Smethers Field.

Flint, a freshman from Fairbanks, Alaska, opened the scoring at 9:26 off a pass from Cates. It was Flint's fifth goal of the season, and Cates' first assist.


Flint tallied her first assist at 60:56 when she played a ball over the top to Blythe Hall, who dribbled in, had her first shot blocked, then scored on the rebound to make it 2-0 Anderson. The goal was the first of Hall's career.


Cates capped the scoring at 89:18 when she took a pass from Flint and scored on a breakaway. The assist to Cates was Flint's fifth of the season.


The loss drops North Greenville to 1-6.
