DUE WEST, SC- Freshman Amanda Tinker scored her first career goal and helped propel the Erskine Women’s Soccer Team to a 3-0 victory over North Greenville University on Wednesday afternoon at Huggins Field. The win improved Erskine to 1-1 on the young season, while NGU fell to 0-3.
Tinker got things going for the Fleet with 14:54 remaining in the 1st half when she fired a powerful shot from the top of the box into the right corner of the goal past NGU goalie Jessica Binkley. Two minute later junior Casey Cash got on the board when she found herself all alone against Brinkley. Cash slipped the ball into the left corner of the goal, giving Erskine a 2-0 halftime lead.
Both teams remained scoreless until EC junior Anna Weldon scored on an assist from freshman Taylor Craft at the 69:27 mark.
The Crusaders will be back in action Saturday as they travel to Columbia College.
