Women's Soccer tops Emmanuel 3-1

Ashley Jackson got the North Greenville women's soccer team off to a good start with a break-away finish 20 minutes into the game to give the Crusaders a lead they would never surrender in the 3-1 victory over Emmanuel College. Whitney Doublestein followed Jackson's lead and scored at the 30:00 minute mark with a finish to the upper 90 off a cross from Bridgett Smith. Liz Boone sealed the win for the Crusaders with a free kick from 35 yards out midway through the second half.

"The girls had some problems with consistent play in the first half, but came out strong and possessed the ball well in the second half. They did what they had to do to win," remarked head coach Chad Gfeller. Combined with a victory by the men's team, this marked the first time in school history that the men and women swept a doubleheader.
