Former Furman Goalkeeper Courtney Baker Named Women's Lacrosse Assistant Coach

The North Greenville women's lacrosse program will feature a new assistant coach for the 2020 season as Courtney Baker, who played for four years at Furman University as a goalkeeper, has been named to the position.

A native of North East, Maryland, Baker made an immediate impact for the Paladins, starting the season opener as a freshman against Vanderbilt University. Baker shined throughout her senior year as a starter, posting an 11-8 record and helping guide the Paladins to a share of the SoCon Regular Season Championship. Baker finished the season leading the Southern Conference in Save Percentage with .448 as well as goals against average with 10.52, and was named to the 2019 Women's Lacrosse All-Southern Conference 1st Team.

Head coach Brianna Temples is excited for Baker to join her staff and looks forward to what she will bring to the program. "We are so excited to have Courtney on our women's lacrosse staff. I feel confident in her ability to help lead our team as well as become a mentor to our athletes. We are fortunate to have her join us and are looking forward to a great future with her as part of our staff."
