Crusaders name four to All-Conference teams

Tigerville, S.C. – Rachel Kellogg was tabbed a First Team All-Conference performer while Hanna Hawkins, Monica Colwell, and Sydney Taylor earned Second Team nods it was announced by Conference Carolinas on Saturday afternoon.

Kellogg was sixth in Conference Carolinas this season and first on the team with 64 – goals through 18 – games, surpassing her career high set last season. The sophomore midfielder also dished out 10 – assists this season and was 15 of 18 on free position goal shots. She picked up 28 groundballs this season and caused 11 – turnovers on defense and was named Conference Carolinas Player of the week twice this season. Kellogg was one of two NGU players to reach the 100 – goal plateau for her career when she scored her 100th against Chowan in the Conference Carolinas playoffs.

Hanna Hawkins turned in a solid junior season, turning in 48 – goals which was second on the North Greenville team. Hawkins also had eight caused turnovers on defense and picked up 27 groundballs for the Crusaders. She finished with 50 total points this season and was better than 50 – percent shooting. Hawkins also reached the century mark this season against Chowan.

Monica Colwell finishes her senior season at North Greenville as the all-time leader in program history on defense. Colwell finished this season with 25 caused turnovers, adding to her career total and program best. Colwell also scored eight goals for NGU and added an assist. She was third on the team in groundballs with 36 – pickups and finished with 9 – total points for NGU.

Sydney Taylor was the best in the conference this season when it came to saving percentage, allowing opponents to score just 49.8 percent of the time. Taylor finished the 2018 season with 156 – saves on the season and just a 9.18 goals against average, which was good enough for second in the conference. Taylor played in all 18 games for North Greenville this season amassing over 1,000 – minutes in the net and faced 413 – shots overall. The Upstate native also led the Crusaders with 59 – groundballs on the season.

Tigerville – North Greenville men’s lacrosse wrapped up the 2018 season with three Second Team All-Conference nods including Ethan Landreth, Alex Proly, and Logan Bryant.

Ethan Landreth finished the 2018 season as NGU’s leading scorer, firing off 37 – goals for the season to go along with six assists. Landreth also tacked on 22 – groundballs and caused a pair of turnovers on defense. The junior was second on the team with 43 overall points.

Alex Proly was one of NGU’s most reliable performers this season. Proly scored 18 – goals for the Crusaders and finished the season with 16 – assists which was second on the team. On defense, Proly forced five turnovers while also scooping up 30 – groundballs. He finished his junior year with 34 total points.

Logan Bryant was NGU’s leader in the faceoff circle and was named second-team specialist for the Crusaders. Bryant was better than 50 – percent in faceoffs this season, winning 199 showdowns at midfield while scooping up a team-high 109 – grounders. Bryant also fired seven goals and had an assist.
