Tigerville, S.C. – North Greenville’s Monica Colwell added another post season accolade to her resume on Monday as she was named an NCAA Statistical Champion, following the 2016 women’s lacrosse season.
Colwell led NCAA Division II as she collected 3.41 caused turnovers per game. Colwell led the country with 58-total caused turnovers on the season. Her defensive effort during the 2016 season earned her a Second Team All-Conference Carolinas nod.
The Greer, South Carolina Native also led the Crusaders with 69 ground balls good enough for first in the conference, and was second on the team with 30-goals on the season.
She is the first NGU lacrosse player (men’s or women’s) to earn such a national honor.
