North Greenville's win streak snapped by Tusculum

Greenville, TN—North Greenville had its three-game win streak snapped on Thursday in a 19-3 loss to Tusculum College.

The Pioneers put NGU in a large hole early in the first half scoring six unanswered goals in the first five minutes of play. Sarah Smith and Natalie Dufresne scored NGU's first two goals of the game with goals at 20:43 and 16:04 to pull North Greenville to within four.

Tusculum answered NGU's two goals with two more goals with goals at 14:25 and with just six seconds left to take an 8-2 lead into halftime. The Crusaders totaled six shots in the opening period while Tusculum finished with 21.

North Greenville's only goal of the second period came at the 24:47 mark when Monica Colwell connected on a free-position shot, making the score 12-3 in favor of Tusculum. The Pioneers connected on 11 of 15 shots in the second half.

Sydney Taylor totaled 11-saves for the Crusaders in the goal. Smith, Colwell, and Dufresne claimed NGU's three scores.

North Greenville will host Lees-McRae College on Saturday afternoon in Tigerville. The draw between NGU and the Bobcats is scheduled for 2pm.
