Tigerville, S.C. - North Greenville extended its win streak to three games on Wednesday with a 12-2 win over Southern Virginia.
Hanna Hawkins led the Crusaders with three goals while Natalie Dufresne, Monica Colwell, and Sarah Smith had two goals each.
The Crusaders put up seven goals in the first half. Sarah Smith got things started for NGU with back-to-back goals to give NGU a 2-0 lead. Hanna Hawkins would add her own back-to-back goals midway through the half to extend the Crusader lead to 4-0.
North Greenville tacked on three more goals in the final 11-minutes as Natalie Dufresne, Monica Colwell, and Emily Colson extended the NGU lead to seven before intermission.
NGU would tack on four more goals in the second half before the Knights broke through with their first goal of the game that cut North Greenville's advantage to 11-1. One more goal from SVU would make the score 11-2 before Candace Petit added her only goal of the game to give NGU a 10-point cushion.
The win improved the Crusaders 4-3 on the season. NGU will travel to Greenville, Tennessee on Thursday afternoon to take on Tusculum at 4pm.
