Tigerville, S.C. - The North Greenville University Crusaders left Saturday's game still searching for their first program win falling to the Belmont Abbey Crusaders 19-2.
Belmont Abbey would start out on a strong offensive run against North Greenville starting out on a 5-0 run. At the 11:19 mark in the first half Monica Colwell would scratch across a goal for the hosting Crusaders on an assist from Samantha Poppleton. This would bring the score to 5-1. The visiting Crusaders would answer back with yet another 5-0 run to make the score 10-1. With 8:58 left in the first half Emily Colson would record the second goal (10-2) for North Greenville. Belmont Abbey would score 3 more before the half bringing the halftime score to 13-2.
The North Greenville Crusader offense would come out cold in the second half. Belmont Abbey would shutout the hosting Crusaders, while adding six goals of their own to make the final score 19-2. Monica Colwell and Emily Colson would be the two goal scores for North Greenville. Starting goalie for North Greenville Lowri Gowing would collect three saves on the game.
Your Crusader women fell to 0-6 on the season, and will travel to Charleston, S.C. on March 14. This game will be against College of Charleston.
