Robbie Edwards took over the North Greenville University men's and women's golf programs in January 2016 from just down the road where he worked for Cherokee Valley Country Club.

During his time at Cherokee Valley, Edwards served as the assistant golf professional and had several responsibilities including setting up clinics for members as well as giving private lessons to members.

Edwards is a certified Titleist Fitting Professional and is a level 3 Professional Golf Association (PGA) Apprentice. The Golf Academy of America graduate also worked at the Links O’Tryon in Campobello, South Carolina. The head skipper of NGU golf also spent time at Green Valley Country Club.

In his career at North Greenville, Edwards has led the Crusaders to the program's first Conference Carolinas Championship and a pair of NCAA Regional appearances for men's golf and a top-five finish for the women's team at the 2018 Conference Carolinas Championships. Edwards also helped the women to a record-breaking tournament at the Patsy Rendleman Invite where the Crusaders shattered three school records including lowest individual round by a player, total team score, and lowest team round.

Robbie Edwards is a South Carolina native having graduated from Landrum High School. He and his wife Kimberly currently reside in Travelers Rest, South Carolina.
