Tigerville – North Greenville women’s golf defended its home course this week with a first place finish at the Cherokee Valley Ladies Invitational.

The Crusaders clocked in with a team score of 654, even with Coker College who shared the title. Converse College scored the third place finish while Southern Wesleyan and Emmanuel College rounded out the top five. Converse finished with a  669 while SWU carded a 685 while Emmanuel finished with a total of 706.

North Greenville was paced by senior Savannah Hallman who shot a tournament low 154 for a two round total. Hallman stayed true the entire event, carding a 77 on both days. It’s the first win of the season for Hallman and her best finish of the 18-19 tournament schedule.

Ashlynn Mullis turned in the second best score on the team for NGU and finished seventh for the tournament. Mullis shot an 81 on day one and followed it up with an 83 on Tuesday for a total of 164 after 36 holes.

Allison Avery also turned in a top-10 finish and was NGU’s third best finisher. Avery carded an 81 after the first 18 and followed with an 84 for a Tuesday score. Her two day total was 165.

Miriam Sundell finished 14thoverall with an 85 on Monday and an 86 on the second day of the tournament. Her two round total was 171. Rachel Huber finished 16thwith an 85 and an 87 for a total of 172.

Up Next

The Crusaders will take off a week before heading to Harwell, Georgia for the Conference Carolinas Championships at the Cateechee Golf Club. The tournament will run from April 7-9.
