Tigerville, S.C. – North Greenville women’s golf shot a two day total of 706, good enough for a seventh place finish at the Cherokee Valley Women’s Invitational.
The Crusaders shot a 348 during the first round but added 10-strokes on the second day to shoot a 358. Milligan College earned the tournament’s fist place trophy with a 638 while Converse College and Belmont Abbey tied for second place with a 673. Southern Wesleyan and Erskine rounded out the top five.
Rachel Huber turned in one of her best finishes as a collegiate golfer, finishing in a tie for 15th place. In her two rounds, Huber totaled 171 after 36-holes of competition. The sophomore shot an 86 in the opening round and followed it up with an 85 on day two.
Morgan Reece also finished in 15th along with Huber, making them the two best finishers for North Greenville. Also finished with a 171 for a 36-hole total, carding an 87 after one round. Reece was NGU’s biggest mover, shaving off three strokes on her day two total to shoot an 84.
Ashlynn Mullis was NGU’s next best finisher as she wrapped up the week in a tie for 19th. Mullis shot an 82 on day one and finished the first round in seventh place. She added eight strokes in day two to shoot a 90. Her two-day total was 172.
Other scores for NGU included Sarah Dutton who shot an 89 and an 87, finishing her in 25th, while Megan Miller finished in 35th with scores of 90 and 97. Miriam Sundell shot a 99 and a 97 while Madison Monteith carded a 100 and a 99.
The Crusaders will have one more tune-up on April third before the Conference Carolinas Championships. The team will travel to Greeneville, Tennessee to take part in the Agnes McAmis memorial Classic on April 3rd.
