Hilton Head, S.C. – North Greenville women’s golf hit the course for the first time in 2017 on Monday and Tuesday. The Crusaders knocked off the rust and finished 12th at the Pfeiffer Invitational.
West Georgia, Wingate, and King University took the top three spots while Lenoir-Rhyne and Mount olive rounded out the top five.
North Greenville was paced by Ashylynn Mullis who turned in one of her best performances as a collegiate athlete. Mullis started the week with carding a 74, the lowest round of her career thus far. Mullis followed up her 74 with a 76 on day two for a two-day total of 150. The score locked up a 9th place finish for the Rock Hill native. Mullis was also NGU’s only top-10 finisher.
Morgan Reece finished second on the team for the Crusaders and 59th overall. Reece shot an opening round 83 and followed it up with an 84 in round two for a two round total of 167. Megan Miller finished 63rd for the team carding an 84 and an 87 on Monday and Tuesday.
Other scores for the Crusaders included an 84 and a 94 for Sarah Dutton and a 91 and a 98 for Miriam Sundell. Dutton wrapped up the first tournament with in 76th while Sundell placed 81st.
North Greenville will be back in action next week when they take on the Coker Women’s Spring Invitational at the Hartsville Country Club.
