Hendersonville, N.C.—The North Greenville Women's Golf Team notched a fifth place finish this week at the 2015 Etowah Intercollegiate at Etowah Valley Country Club.
The Crusaders claimed a trio of top 20 finishes as Morgan Reece, and Ansley Brock finished in a tie for 15th while Ashlynn Mullis earned an 18th place finish. Brock and Mullis' top 20 finishes were both career best while Morgan Reece earned her second top 15 finish of the fall season.
Reece finished the two-day tourney with a 171, posting an 81 on day one and a 90 on day two. Her round one score was a team low. Ansley Brock also posted a 171, but was NGU's most consistent player throughout the tournament dropping just one stroke from day one to two, shooting an 85 and an 86.
Ashlynn Mullis put together the best round of her brief collegiate career, shooting an 82 and a 90. Mullis finished with a 171 total, just two back of NGU's top two finishers. Megan Heald also turned in a strong showing for North Greenville with a 21st place finish while Lauren Childs finished in 29th. Heald's 85 and 91 left her just outside the top 20 while Laruen Childs finished the week improving a stroke from on day two after carding a 91 on Monday.
The Etowah Intercollegiate is the first tournament in over a year in which all players for North Greenville finished inside the top 30. The Crusaders will take the course again next week at the King Fall Invitational at the Country Club of Bristol.
