Tigerville, S.C.—The North Greenville Women's Golf Team wrapped up the Cherokee Valley Invitational Tuesday afternoon with a 6th place finish after shooting a team total 671. The Crusaders improved 19 strokes from day one to day two.
The Crusaders were paced by senior AnnaLeis Dibert who improved nine strokes from day one to two. She posted a 72 in the second day of play, qualifying her with a second place finish. Dibert shot an 81 on day one, but finished just two strokes off the win, posting a two day total of 153. Her 72 on Tuesday was a tournament record and tournament record for this year.
Callie Taylor also posted a top 15 finish for the Crusaders as she finished in 12th place with a two-day total of 161. Taylor shaved five strokes from her first day total of 83. Freshmen Morgan Reece turned in her best finish as a Crusader with a 20th place finish. Reece shot an 83 on day one and an 85 on day two but improved two spots after finishing the first 18 in a tie for 22nd.
Lauren Childs finished 39th for the Crusaders improving seven strokes on day two, shooting a 91 while freshmen Kaycee Blackwell improved seven strokes in the second round as she finished with a 98.
Mount Olive took the top spot in the tournament shooting a team total 623 while Queens University shot a 631 for a second place finish. NGU will have one more tune-up before the Conference Carolinas Championships on April 18th as they travel to Sunset Hills Country Club in Carrolton, Georgia to play in the UWG Women's Invitational on April 6-7.
