Carrollton, GA – The North Greenville University women’s team was back on the links this week, competing in the UWG Invitational, hosted by the University of West Georgia.
UNC Pembroke was in control throughout the two-day tournament, shooting a total team score of 326-306-632 to claim the team title.
Lincoln Memorial University took home second place honors with a score of 327-319-646 and West Georgia shot 329-340-669 to finish in third place. North Greenville shot a team total 342-346-688 to claim a fourth place finish, while the University of Montevallo shot 348-348-696 to round out the Top 5 team standings.
Meghan Moore of UNC Pembrok earned the individual title after a tournament total of 75-77-152, just one stroke ahead of teammate and second place finisher Shauna Walor who shot 77-76-153 in the two rounds of play.
Sophomore AnnaLeis Dibert was the top finisher for North Greenville, earning a tie for 12th overall after a two-day total of 80-88-169, while teammate Denise Shirley was close behind with score of 88-81-169 to finish 14th overall.
Anna Padgett shot 87-88-175 to tie for 24th place and Callie Taylor finished 27th after a two-round total of 87-93-180. Lauren Childs rounded out the individual scores for the Crusaders with a total of 93-89 to secure a 28th place finish.
North Greenville will have a few weeks to train and prepare for its own tournament on March 24-25 when the Crusaders host the NGU Invitational on Cherokee Valley Golf Course in Greenville, SC.
