Greeneville, TN – In the team’s second tournament of the 2012 season, the North Greenville University women’s golf team recorded a 6th place finish in the Tusculum Fall Classic.
Tusculum placed first overall in the field of 11 teams with a two-day total score of 311-303-614, just one stroke ahead of Lincoln Memorial (308-307-615) and UNC Pembroke (311-304-615) which finished in a tie for second place. Wingate shot a total score of 319-317-636 to finish fourth overall, while Catawba recorded a team total of 323-332-655 to round out the Top 5 in the team standings. As a team, the Crusaders shot a two-day total of 325-331-656 for a sixth place finish.
In the individual standings, UNC Pembroke’s Meghan Moore (75-74-149) edged out Tusculum’s Emee Herbert (77-72-149) in a playoff to claim the individual title. North Greenville was led by sophomore AnnaLeis Dibert who finished the tournament tied for 21st place after a two-day total of 85-76-161, while Denise Shirley was close behind with a score of 83-79-162 to tie for 24th overall.
Anna Padgett (76-88-164) tied for 26th place overall, Callie Taylor earned a 33rd place finished with a score of 81-88-169 and Paige Donaldson tied for 49th place with a score of 90-89-179 to round out the individual scores for North Greenville.
The Crusaders will be on the course again on Oct. 15-16 when they travel to Salisbury, NC to compete in the Rendleman Invitational.
