Shirley Has Strong Showing In King College Invitational First Round

Bristol, TN – After an opening round team score of 358, the Lady Crusader golf team sits in fourth place in the King College Invitational.

Erskine College leads the tournament by ten strokes after a combined team total of 334, while host King College is in second with a 344. Milligan College opened with a 356, just two shots ahead of North Greenville while Limestone finished the opening round in last place after a team total of 363.

Sophomore Denise Shirley opened the tournament with a first round 85, to be in a tie for 7th place, just four shots behind individual leader Anna Jenkins of Erskine.

Sophomores Anna Padgett and Regan Ouzts are tied for 14th after identical opening rounds of 89, while freshman Anna Dibert shot an opening round 95 to finish the first day tied for 19th. Senior Taylor threat rounded out the individual scoring for North Greenvile in 25th with an opening round 99.
