Lady Crusaders struggle in first round

Salisbury, NC – The Lady Crusader golf team currently sits in 14th place in the Patsy Rendleman Invitational at the Country Club of Salisbury after an opening round 365.


"We got off to a tough start and never really recovered," Pittillo said. I look for them to bounce back tomorrow and play much better.”


Belmont Abbey is leading the tournament with a team score of 294, followed closely by UNC-Pembroke at 297. Rounding out the top five are Newberry College at 308 followed by Carson Newman, Pfeiffer and Lincoln Memorial at 314.


Individually, the Lady Crusaders were lead by Denise Shirley with an 86. She was followed closely by Anna Padgett at 87, Taylor Threatt at 92 and Regan Ouzts at 100.


The second round will begin tomorrow at 9:15 a.m.
