Crusaders Open Up 2019 With 4th Place Finish in Eye Opener

North Greenville began its 2019 season with a 4th place finish out of five teams in the Eye Opener. Originally schedule for Friday evening, the event was rescheduled for earlier today due to rain. The meet consisted of three NCAA Division I teams, one NCAA Division II team (NGU), and a Community College program. 

Hope Whisman was the top finisher for the Crusaders. She began her season placing 20th overall with a time of 20:29.2. Right behind her was Grace Valentine with a 21st place finish and a time of 20:35.6. Mary Abbott was the next finisher for North Greenville, who finished with a time of 20:58.1 for a 23rd place finish.

Rounding out the Crusaders were Jadyn Slaughter with a 27th place finish, Cori Small with a 29th place finish, Paige Trent with a 31st place finish, Shelley Martin with a 35th place finish, and Madeline Merrell with a 37th place finish.

Up next for the Crusaders is the Wingate Bulldog Stampede on Saturday, September 21st in Wingate, North Carolina.
