After a strong 2018 season that exceeded expectations, North Greenville is now expected to put together repeat porformance with a 2nd place spot in the 2019 Conference Carolinas Women’s Cross Country Preseason Poll. The Crusaders did receive two 1st place votes in the Preseason Poll, which is voted on by the head coaches. NGU will rely on eight familiar faces and three new ones to put together a strong season in 2019.

Key Returners

Hope Whisman was the top finisher for NGU in four of five meets in 2018. She set her collegiate best time of 19:19 in the Royals Cross Country Challenge. The 2nd Team All-Conference recipient will look to lead the way in the upcoming season.

Grace Valentine will look to improve off a solid 2018 season that saw her achieve her lifetime personal best time of 20:03 in the Royals Cross Country Challenge. A sophomore, Valentine was among the first five Crusaders to finish in four of five meets in 2018.

Mary Abbott was one of North Greenville's most consistent runners last season as she placed third among Crusaders in all five events. Her best time was a 19:48 in the Royals Cross Country Challenge.
