Wingate, N.C. – North Greenville men’s and women’s track and field wrapped up their third weekend of competition on Saturday with two team finishes of fourth place.
Kaleigh Roach led the way for the Crusaders for the third consecutive race as her finish of 24:33.75 finished earned her a 13th place finish. Other times for the Crusaders included 26:27.12 for Amanda Ward (27th) and a 27:32.60 for Rebecca Watson (35th).
NGU’s women also had a trio of runners who set new personal bests on Saturday including a pair of freshman, Hope Whisman (18th) and Cori Small (20th) as well as veteran Nayeley Valenciano (28th). Whisman led the group of runners with a time of 25:03.79 while Cori Small wrapped up her day with a 25:12.86. Valenciano finished in 26:30.86.
Victoria Davies and Shelby Wright rounded out the women’s race for NGU with times of 28:45.73 and 29:00.40.
Jonathan Keller paced the men’s team on Saturday, lead the Crusaders for the first time in his career. The freshman finished 11th among all runner with a time of 28:10.76. It was Keller’s first race as a collegiate runner.
NGU had three runners finish consecutively on Saturday as Austin Nobles finished 23rd while Dominic Powell and Trey Stewart finished 24th and 25th. Nobles clocked in at 29:58.23 while Dominic Powell and Trey Steward finished with times of 30:35.83 and 30:41.80.
Jacob Grigg and Zachary Chastain rounded out the men’s finishes with a 28th place finish and a time of 31:24.96 and 33:37.17. Brandon Burke finished 27th with a time of 28:18.23.
