Cross Country has strong showing in Citadel Invitational

Charleston, S.C. –Sophomore John Shealy (28:57, 5th place) and junior Ansley Bolton (21:43, 9th place) led the Crusaders to a 2nd place finish for the men and a 3rd place finish for the women in the Division II race at the annual Will Wilson Citadel Invitational held at James Island Country Park.

The men’s team raced in a 8k race led by John Shealy and followed by James Brooks (29:03, 6th place). The Crusaders finished in 2nd place with an average time of 29:54 and a total time of 2:29:34 in the 8k race.

Junior Ansley Bolton led the Crusaders to a 3rd place finish. Behind Ansley was freshman Kelley Knutson (22:21) and freshman Lynzie Doll (22:43). The Crusaders had an average time of 23:04 in the 5k race.

The Crusaders men and women will be at home for the first time in school history to race in the Presidential Fellowship Invitational and Joe F. Hayes Jr. Fellowship Invitational at Cherokee Valley on Wednesday September 28.
