Tigerville, S.C. – Athletic director Jan McDonald and head women’s basketball coach Jayne Arledge have announced the addition of Willis Holliday as the associate head coach for the NGU women’s basketball team.
Holliday comes to North Greenville from St. Mary’s Catholic School where he coached both the boy’s and girl’s basketball and taught physical education. Holliday found great success on the court as head coach of the Ducks, racking up five state championships on the girls team with eight conference championships. Holliday also put together an impressive resume at Siloam Christian School, racking up a 68-7 record in five seasons.
In all, Coach Holliday has invested over 20-years of developing athletes at various levels of the game, including middle and high school. Holliday has worked as an assistant coach as well as the strength and conditioning coordinator including a year at the collegiate level as the assistant strength coach at Georgia Southern University.
Holliday also has strong ties to the basketball scene in the Upstate as he is the founder of Holliday Hoops, a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of both male andfemale basketball players who desire to play at the collegiate level. Holliday Hoops is one the nation’s premier basketball player training and development organizations. In 2001, Coach Holliday had the privilege of being an assistant coach to the USA High School Olympic team in Munich, Germany.
Holliday graduated from Georgia Southern University where he played basketball and had the opportunity to lead his team to the NCAA tournament 1987. He resides in Greenville, South Carolina and has three daughters.
