Spartanburg, S.C. - Four players scored in double-figures but the Crusaders shot just 36.4 percent as a team in a 79-76 loss to Converse College.

The Crusaders were led in scoring by Emily Wampler who pocketed 19 points Erika Cobb scored 13 for NGU while Chantel Strahorn and Paulette Addison scored 12 and 10 points respectively. North Greenville fell to 2-7 overall and 0-3 in Conference Carolinas play.

The Valkyries led by as many as 15 points, that lead coming with 6:20 left in the third quarter before NGU stormed back to cut the lead to one point. An 11-1 which spanned about two minutes of the fourth period would cut the Converse lead to 76-75 on a Strahorn three-pointer with 35 seconds left.

Two free throws from the Valkyries would extend their lead back to three points. North Greenville would have two chances to even the tally in the final 17 seconds but a pair of three pointers would come up empty as Converse escaped with the three point victory.

North Greenville will break for the holidays before returning to the court on January 5th to open up the New Year with a 5:30 tipoff against King University.
