Tigerville, S.C. - Cameron Carter scored a career high 32-points Friday night as North Greenville earned a 72-68 win over Emmanuel College.
The Crusaders took their first lead of the game midway through the first quarter but a late run by the Lions would earn them a four-point lead heading into the second quarter.
The Crusaders continued to play from behind until late in the second quarter. North Greenville erased an eight-point lead capped by a Carter three pointer, which gave NGU a 35-33 lead. The Crusaders ended the first half on an 18-4 run, earning the Crusaders a six-point lead at halftime.
The second half was just as competitive but the Crusaders never trailed, leading by as many as 11-points with 2:44 left in the game. Emmanuel would battle back to within four, using an 8-1 run in the final minutes, but the Lions ran out of time as NGU earned its seventh conference win of the season.
Also scoring in double figures for the Crusaders was Divonnie Powell who had 10-points. Ty Broadwater was one point shy of a double double as she paired nine points with 14-rebounds.
North Greenville improved to 9-16 overall and 7-12 in league play. The Crusaders will host Southern Wesleyan Saturday afternoon at 2pm in Hayes Gymnasium.
