High Point, N.C.—Cortney Williams was named Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year while Timisty Nelson and Alisha Hope earned All-Conference honors headlining the North Greenville Women's Basketball Team post-season honors for the 2015 season.
Cortney Williams averaged eight points a game in her first season of collegiate basketball, leading all Conference Carolinas freshmen in scoring average while also collecting 5.3 rebounds per contest. She played in all 28 games for North Greenville, quickly working her way into the starting lineup for the Crusaders, starting in 25 of those games. She finished 4th on the team in scoring, dropping 225 points this season. Williams was solid on defense leading the Crusaders with 20 blocks to go along with 27 steals. She is the first NGU rookie to earn the FOY honor for North Greenville.
Timisty Nelson was selected to the All-Conference 2nd-Team after putting together a solid senior campaign. Nelson led NGU in field goal percentage hitting 53 percent of her shots this season, while scoring 385 points. She averaged 14.8 points per game while gathering 7.5 rebounds.
Alisha Hope rounded out the post-season awards for the Crusaders, earning the All-Conference 3rd-Team nod. Hope scored 411 points during her final year in the red and black, averaging 14.2 a game. Hope had 37 steals on defense and corralled just over six rebounds a game.
