Highpoint, N.C.—Conference Carolinas has announced its selections for post season All-Conference teams, and three of NGU’s standouts made the cut in North Greenville’s inaugural season. Karly Stache was named to the 2nd team All-Conference, while senior Christina Carlis, and junior Krisceda Cotton nabbed 3rd team honors.
Stache, a senior from Louisville, Tennessee averaged 13 points a game during the 2011-2012 season and led NGU in scoring for the fourth season in a row. Stache was NGU’s deep threat, shooting 38.2% from behind the 3-point arch. Stache broke NGU’s all time scoring record this season with her 1,449th point.
Christina Carlis, a senior from McDonough, Georgia also found her way into the North Greenville record books this season, after she dished out her 363rd assist to become NGU’s all time assists leader. Carlis was the quarterback for North Greenville’s offense this year, averaging 11.7 points per game, and 4.3 assists. Carlis also reached the 1000 point plateau for her career this season.
Junior Krisceda Cotton from Gaston, South Carolina, was also a solid performer for NGU this year, and was a solid presence on the block. Cotton averaged 12.1 points a game this season, and was NGU’s leading rebounder averaging 8.6 boards a game. Cotton was second on the team in scoring and in field goals made.
