LADY CRUSADERS ERASE 20 POINT DEFICIT EN ROUTE TO WIN OVER MORRIS

Tigerville, S.C.—The North Greenville Lady Crusaders erased a 20 point deficit and rattled off 62 second half points en route to a 101-82 win over Morris College.


The Crusaders led Morris for a short sting in the first half but went into intermission trailing by 12. The Hornets opened the second half with an 8-5 building their lead to 20 points with 14:29 left in the game.

With 14:11 the North Greenville began to chip away at the Morris lead. With the presence of a strong full court press, the Crusaders went on a 13-2 run forcing five turnovers in just over five minutes of game play.

The Crusaders went onto outscore the Hornets 37-15 in the final ten minutes of play securing the Crusaders their biggest point total of the season.

11 players added to the point total for NGU with four in double figures. Karly Stache led the team with 22 points, while Christina Carlis scored 19, Raven Wamer added 14 to the cause, while Brooks Walz had 11 points. Brandy Smith led the team with six rebounds.

The win over Morris moves the Crusaders to 10-13 on the season with two regular season games left. The Crusaders will open post season play on Monday hosting the NCCAA South Regional Tournament. The Crusaders will tip off again on February 17th against Voorhees College at 5:30.
