Franklin Springs, Ga.—The Lady Crusader Basketball fell to 1-3 on the season Monday night after falling to Southern Wesleyan 74-65 on the first night of the NCCAA Classic.

The game was a tale of two half’s for the Crusaders who led the Warriors 44-33 after the first 20 minutes of play. The Crusaders shot 41 percent from the field in the first half and were once again led by junior guard Karly Stache who had 10 points and was 3-7 from the three point arch.

Stache finished with 14 points, a sign that the second half didn’t go as planned for Jayne Arledge and co. The Crusaders were outscored 41-21 in the second half and shot just 21 percent from the field.

“This was a frustrating loss,” remarked Arledge after the loss. “We played well first half but didn’t show up the second half. We really wanted to win this one and we are disappointed about the way it ended.”

Christina Carlis was second on the team with 10 points. Anjelica Wilcox led the rebounding for the Crusaders with 7 while also scoring 9 points.

North Greenville will wrap up its pre-thanksgiving schedule Tuesday night against Emmanuel College. Tip is set for 6pm.
