Tigerville, S.C.—NGU women’s basketball players Karly Stache has been named to the NCCAA All American team and senior guard Nikki Wood was named to the All-Tournament Team after her performance in the NCCAA National Basketball tournament.
Karly Stache, a sophomore guard from Louisville, Tn. Played in 29 games for the Lady Crusaders in 2010 and was the team leader in four offensive statistical categories. For the season Stache accounted for 364 points averaging 12.6 points per game. She also led the team in field goals made with 124 and three pointers made with 73. Stache was also first on the team as well as the NCCAA hitting 42-46 free throw for a percentage of 91.3%.
Nikki Wood, the senior captain from Spartanburg, S.C. led the played and started in 29 games for North Greenville in 2010 leading the Crusaders to their first national tournament in four years. During the national tournament, Wood led the team scoring a total of 26 points in three games played. She also averaged one steal per game during the tournament and had three assists. For the season Wood averaged 8.9 points per game and was third on the team in scoring with 259 points. She was also 15th in the NCCAA with 91 assists in 2010.
Nikki Wood will graduate in May with a degree in psychology.
