LADY CRUSADERS FALL SHORT AGAINST KING COLLEGE

Bristol, Tn.—The North Greenville women’s basketball team traveled to Bristol, Tennessee looking for a fifth win in a row but came up short against the Tornadoes of King College 65-55.

The Lady Crusaders were led by sophomore guard Karly Stache who scored 18 points which lead all scorers. Nikki Wood and Krisceda Cotton also scored in double figures for NGU with 10. Stache went 4 of 7 from the three point line.  Cotton led the team with six rebounds as well.
The game was a back and forth contest that saw 13 lead changes and 6 ties. The score was tied at 32 after the first 20 minutes of play. The Lady Crusaders were 5 of 7 from the three point line in the first half and 13 of 29 from the field but finished the game going 21 of 53 from the field for 39.6% and 6 of 13 from the three for 46.2% from three to end the game.
“It was a disappointing loss” said head coach Jayne Arledge, “we had our chances but couldn’t pull the trigger. We just have to rebound and get ready to play in the NCCAA regionals next week.”
NGU will play two more road games at Allen University and Lander University before heading Southern Wesleyan on February 15-17 for the National Collegiate Christian Athletic Association regional tournament.
