Tigerville, S.C. – Whitney Smith scored 16 points and went 4 of 7 from the three point line leading the Lady Crusaders to a 71-64 win over Brevard College.
Other players scoring in double digits for the NGU were Christina Carlis who scored 10, and Krisceda Cotton who scored 11 points. Cotton also collected 13 rebounds earning her first “double double” of the season. Karly Stache and Nikki added to the scoring with nine points each.
The lady Crusaders trailed by as many as five points in the second half but used solid shooting and fast play to gain the final lead with 12:49 left in the game. The Crusaders shot 58.4% from the field and went 12 of 17 from the free throw line. North Greenville out rebounded the tornadoes 50-34 leading to 16 second chance points.
“It was a big win for us” remarked head coach Jayne Arledge, “we played with great effort and intensity and I was very pleased with our effort. We have won 4 of our last 5 games and hopefully we can pick up another “W” on Thursday.”
The Lady Crusaders will play again Thursday Night against Voorhees College at 6pm in Hayes Gymnasium in Tigerville.
