LADY CRUSADERS DROP CLOSE GAME TO VOORHEES

Denmark, S.C.—Despite a 19 point halftime lead, the North Greenville women’s basketball team fell to Voorhees College 73-71.

The Lady Crusaders lead the game by 25 at one point in the first half however turnovers and missed free throws proved to be the Achilles heel for North Greenville as Voorhees stormed back to pull out a two point win.
Individually the Lady Crusaders were lead by Karly Stache who scored a team high 23 points and Whitney Smith who scored 16. Crisceda Cotton lead the team with seven rebounds. “It was definitely a disappointing loss for us,” said head coach Jayne Arledge, “We just had too many turnovers and missed too many free throws to pull it out.”
The Lady Crusaders will play two more games before Christmas break. The team will hit the road on Saturday night for a game against Reinhardt in Waleska, Ga. The team will play one more home game on Tuesday night at 5:30 against Erskine and will wrap up the 2009 portion of the schedule against Limestone on December 17th.
