After trailing by only one point at halftime, 34-32, the North Greenville women went stone-cold from the field in the final 10 minutes as they dropped a 74-62 loss to Reinhardt College in Waleska, Ga. Christina Carlis (FR McDonough, GA) led the Crusaders with 14 points, Whitney Smith added 13, and Amanda Milner and Karly Stache had 12 apiece.
Coach Jayne Arledge’s team stayed close with Reinhardt, but could not score consistently down the stretch in the game. The Crusaders shot a meager 35% from the field, but did manage 7-15 three-pointers. Reinhardt shot 43%, but made 8-15 3’s. NGU committed 21 turnovers in the contest which was a big factor in the game.
NGU defeated Reinhardt 77-58 in its season opener November 15 in Tigerville. The Crusaders have four games left in the regular season before the NCCAA Regional Tournament in Florida Feb. 16-18. NGU will host Morris College Saturday, Feb. 9 at 2:00 p.m. and King College Monday, Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m.
