SMITH'S CAREER HIGH 21 LEADS NGU WOMEN PAST ALLEN

Bridgett Smith, a senior guard from Weaverville, NC scored a career high 21 points, Christina Carlis added 15 and Nikki Wood came out of a shooting slump to score 13 as the North Greenville women (10-10) defeated Allen University in Columbia 67-48 Saturday afternoon.


Smith, who is a two-sport athlete at NGU, joined the basketball team after helping to lead the Crusader women’s soccer team to a record-breaking season and NCCAA regional playoff berth, stepped in to fill the void left by an injury to star center Amanda Milner.


NGU will next host Southern Wesleyan Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 5:30 p.m. at Hayes Gymnasium in Tigerville.
