MILNER'S 24 POINTS LEADS NGU PAST CHOWAN AT CHILLY HAYES GYM

Amanda Milner powered to 24 points and North Greenville (8-7) won its second straight game as the Crusaders defeated Chowan (5-13) 68-53 at Hayes Gym Saturday afternoon.

Nikki Wood and Christina Carlis backed Milner’s strong effort with 13 points.  Milner reached the 20-point mark for the fourth time this season.  NGU went up by a narrow 34-30 score at halftime despite the frigid conditions inside Hayes.  Coach Jayne Arledge donned a parka and gloves at halftime, but her team ignited a fire on defense as they limited Chowan to a mere 19 points in the second half.  The Crusaders also limited Chowan to a frosty 27% shooting in the game.

NGU, which has won three of its last four games, will travel to Southern Wesleyan and and Morris College in Sumter, SC.  The Crusaders next home game will be Saturday, Jan. 24 when they host Brevard College at 2:00 p.m.
