Emmanuel wins Regional Championship; defeats NGU 68-58
Robin Warner led NGU with 19 points

TIGERVILLE, SC--Emmanuel College defeated North Greenville University 68-58 Wednesday night in Hayes Gymnasium to capture the 2008 NCCAA South Regional Championship. The Lady Lions advance to the National Tournament in Oakland City, IN March 13-15. Emmanuel improves to 19-7 on the season, while the Crusaders fall to 14-12.

Tenea Mann drained five 3-pointers and shot seven of 15 from the field to lead the Lions with 22 points. Mann hit two crucial triples late in the second half. NGU pulled within three points at the 5:29 mark, but Mann drained a 3-pointer on the Lions' next offensive possession. NGU never got that close again.

Felecia Towler recorded a double-double for EC with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Robin Warner led the Crusaders with 19 points on six of 11 shooting. Eboni Davis added 11 points.

Emmanuel led 37-31 at halftime.

North Greenville still has a chance to receive at-large bid to the National Tournament.

The Crusaders will return to action Saturday for Senior Day in Hayes Gymnasium. NGU will face Mars Hill College at 2:00 p.m.
