Lady Crusaders fall in overtime
Eboni Davis scored a game-high 22 points

TIGERVILLE, SCóBrevard College defeated North Greenville University 57-52 in overtime Saturday afternoon in Hayes Gymnasium. The Tornados improve to 7-10 on the season, while the Crusaders fall to 7-8.

Eboni Davis led all scorers with 22 points for North Greenville. Whitney Smith added nine points for the Crusaders, while Amanda Milner recorded seven points and ten rebounds.

Lindsay Thrift led Brevard with 19 points on six of ten shooting. Samantha Winn and Holly Krogman each added nine points.

The game started out slow as both teams played a dismal first half offensively. At one point, North Greenville went just under 11 minutes without scoring. The Crusaders shot just 22.6% in the first half while Brevard shot only 23.8%. North Greenville led 19-18 at halftime.

The game picked up pace in the second half as each team shot 43%. The Crusaders kept a single-digit lead most of the second half, but Lindsay Thrift nailed a 3-pointer with 1:41 left in the game to give the Tornados a 49-48 lead. Milner tied the game at 50-50 on a layup with nine seconds left to force overtime.

Brevard outscored North Greenville 7-2 in the extra period to win the game 57-52.

North Greenville returns to action Monday as they travel to Voorhees College for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off.
