MURFREESBORO, NCóRobin Warner scored a game-high 18 points to propel North Greenville University to a 70-53 road victory at Chowan University Saturday afternoon. North Greenville improves to 5-7, while Chowan falls to 3-12.
Both teams battled early in the first half, but North Greenville found a hot hand from outside late in the half. The Crusaders shot 63% from the field and 67% from behind the 3-point line in the first half. Warner lit up the Hawks with 16 first half points. Brandy Smith also netted 10 points in the first half for NGU. The Crusaders led 39-26 at halftime.
North Greenville cruised in the second half, never allowing the Hawks to get within ten points.
Warner led NGU with 18 point, three assists, and six rebounds. Debbie Wyatt added 17 points, while Brandy Smith finished with ten.
The Hawks were led today by Jashonda Crawford who had 17 points and 4 steals. Keyon Sellers also pitched in 10 points for the Hawks.
North Greenville will be back in action Saturday, January 19th as Allen University visits Hayes Gymnasium for a womenís and menís doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m.
