TIGERVILLE, SC--North Greenville University rolls to a third consecutive victory, defeating Benedict College 67-54. The Crusaders improve to 3-3 on the season, while the Tigers fall to 0-2.
North Greenville rode 42.9% shooting to a 35-18 lead at halftime. The Crusaders extended the lead to 25 points at one point during the second half. Midway through the second period, Benedict caught a hot hand shooting and cut the lead to as little as ten points with 2:15 remaining in the game.
North Greenville drained five of six free throws down the stretch to seal the 13-point victory.
Amanda Milner paced the Crusaders with 14 points and eight rebounds. Milner was perfect from the charity stripe, sinking six of six.
Debbie Wyatt and Robin Warner added 13 and 12 points respectively.
Nadia Fleming led all scorers with 16 points for the Tigers, while Kathleen Elam chipped in 14 points.
The Crusaders will be back in action next Wednesday at Erskine College. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.
